The Wish List

For the most part, I'm pretty happy with my collection. There's nothing that I feel I absolutely need and I don't think there are too many massive gaps. This being said, I am a beauty junkie. In layman's terms, this means that there is always something else that would 'complete' my collection (pfft as if...). So, here it is. My Wish List as it stands, in all its expensive, expensive glory.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - It's simple, it's chic, it's easy. And sadly, it is not in my possession. It didn't tempt me to begin with, but the more time passes, the more I want it...

Caudalie Vinosauce SOS Thirst Quenching Serum - AKA skincare crack. This is one of the few products that just works well for my skin and always calms it down when it's going a bit cray. It's not the cheapest, however it is a priority (as much as skincare can be...), so hopefully it won't be too long until it sits in my skin box!

Young Frankk Sunrise Charm Hammered Brass Necklace via Anomie - Since Chelsea of Chelsea Wears opened up her online shop, I've pretty much stalked it 24/7. It's awesome. There's nothing I don't actually want, but I particularly drawn to this shapely neck adornment by Young Frankk. I do love me a semi-circle. Might as well start sending subtle hints to the Boyfriend now and you never know, I might get lucky come Christmas...

Pentax K-500 - So this isn't strictly a beauty product, but I really really want a camera. I am currently using my iPhone 4 (which the boyfriend accurately calls 'the potato') to take photos for the blog, which isn't exactly ideal. I've heard this is a good entry level DSLR. At £350, however, it ain't cheap. Someday...

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in the shade... Well, all of them please - I'm obsessed with these. I've had the shade Belle du Jour for over a year (it was a Chelsea Wears enabled purchase, thinking about it) and have always loved the formula. I did also buy it in the shade Red Square but unfortunately it went missing when I moved last month (very long story - to cut it short, I've changed degrees so am back in Hampshire until September) but I'm on a mission. Gotta catch 'em all... Or something like that.

Muji Acrylic Storage - I already have four Muji drawers in action at present, but in all honesty, it's not enough. Another couple of the big draws in which to store my palettes would be amazing.

So there it is, my current wishlist. What are you saving your pennies for at the moment?

Whistles Stop Tour

Lately, I've not been able to get Whistles out of my mind. There's something about the minimalism that I just cannot resist. This, in combination with the January sale, has been deadly for my bank balance. 

First up, the Alexandra top, a purchase inspired by none other than Anna, from Vivianna Does Makeup. This is the perfect mix of lace and black, two of my favourite things in clothing. The fabric is heavy and good quality, whilst the lace is delicate and as pretty as you'd want it to be. At full price, this was £110, and I can absolutely see why. I grabbed mine for £42 from ASOS. Bitchface is optional.

Then, my second ever Whistles purchase, a grey and black sweatshirt. I don't have the name of the top and can't see it online, but I've seen similar tops in New Look lately. It's a good stable for the Winter, in my opinion, as it's thick but flattering. Role up the sleeves and wear with leather-effect jeans and heels for a night out, or with blue jeans in the day. Costing me £45, I think that this will see me through a few years to come.

Lastly, the Rivington Clutch. As soon as Whistles released their classic clutches with a chain, I knew I would have to get one (I just can't say no...). Although it hasn't photographed particularly well, shocker, this has a patent navy blue finish. It's big enough to fit my purse, sunglasses, lipstick and a book in, but I can't quite manage to get my water bottle to fit. Nevertheless, I'm really happy I picked this bag up as it's casual enough to be worn during the day for errand-running, but small enough that I can easily take it out at night. I grabbed mine for £45, reduced from £95.

These may just look like gloves, but they are so much more. Not only do they keep you warm, you can still use your phone, iPad etc without having to take them off. Leave it to Muji to make these. They're £12.99 and are available here.

Wearing // Zara Embroidered Skirt

It may have taken me the best part of a week to actually do some writing (me? Procrastinate? Never.), but here we are.

I thought I may as well start as I mean to go on: using my student loan to buy things I most definitely shouldn't. The item in question? An embroidered skirt from the TRF section of my spiritual homeland, Zara.

I've been lusting after a short, slightly dressy skirt for a while now, despite the fact that winter is fast approaching and looking to be pretty chilly this year. Thankfully, I managed to put all common sense aside when I saw this little number last week and tried it on. Sparks flew.

At £39.99, it wasn't the cheapest option, but I really do think it was worth it. The sequins and such mean that it can be dressed up for a night out on the tiles really easily, but I would personally feel equally comfortable wearing it to more low-key events. I have quite an unusual body shape in that whilst I am petite, I'm also very curvy so I often find it all that easy to find skirts that suit me. This one, however, manages to accentuate my hips in a flattering way without putting my body out of balance. I'm sold.

For the daytime, it's going to be all about layers. I recently purchased a navy blue knit from Joules. I popped in not expecting to see anything, but much to my surprise I actually came across my all time favourite jumper (which can be found here). I plan on pairing these two items together with a vest and t-shirt underneath, my Zara City Office Bag, with opaque black tights and my Topshop ankle boots - you can never wear too many layers, right?

In the evening, I think I'll be styling it up with an old sheer shirt from Topshop or a semi-sheer black tee, also from Zara, for a more relaxed feel. Thick black tights are obviously on the menu, as are a pair of black ankle boots with gold accents from Miss Selfridge and a black clutch.
